Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)

Aimed at Management or Supervisory level staff, this five-day course is designed to equip candidates to take charge of all aspects of compliance with Health & Safety legislation in the workplace.
Successful candidates will be qualified to NVQ 3 level to perform the role of Site Safety Manager for the Company, and will be able to draw up risk assessments, method statements, COSHH reports, RIDDOR reports, Safety Plans and much more.
The sessions are usually staggered over five weeks, i.e. one day per week over five weeks or blocks of two and three days over two weeks.
Site Supervisors
Designed for first line managers and supervisors, the course explains the individual's legal and moral duties and gives guidance in monitoring safety for groups of operatives. This course prepares candidates for the 5 days SMSTS.

At one of our training centres and on site.
Course Length
We try to arrange dates which most easily accommodate your schedule.
The 5 days are split into blocks of two and three days over 2 weeks, or one day a week over 5 weeks for larger groups.
Course Requirements
You will be using CITB publications GE700 and XAb. Our centre will usually obtain them on your behalf at a reduced rate. You will also be required to complete some projects and assignments as part of the course.
