The sessions are usually staggered over five weeks, i.e. one day per week over five weeks.
General Safety Awareness
This is a one-day session covering a range of subjects related to Health & Safety in the workplace. It will explain how the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 affects everyone at work, what it requires, and the consequences of failure to comply with it. Information is given on legislative requirements for such specific areas as Fire control, COSHH regulations, Work at Height regulations, RIDDOR and much more. It is an interactive and lively session that is invaluable for anyone in the work environment.
Plant Assessments
There are two schemes to choose from: CPCS or our own CTSS certificate. Please contact us for further information on these.
Appointed Person in Emergency Aid
More useful and affordable than the full 4-day First Aid course, this one-day session trains candidates in the basics of maintaining life and managing a casualty. A fun and involving course with state of the art training models and techniques, it could just save the life of one of your team!
Portable Electric Power Tools
This scheme has recently been introduced, allowing workers and tradespersons to obtain a City & Guilds qualification for each individual piece of equipment they use, including portable electric power tools, pneumatic, petrol powered and gas-cartridge operated tools
Chainsaws & Abrasive wheels
If covering only one of the above topics, your candidates can expect to spend about 3 to 4 hours with our assessor, so we can usually tackle both subjects in one day if need be.
Working at Heights
This one-day session covers all aspects of current Working at Heights regulations, including ladder safety, fall arrest systems and much more. Falls from heights are still the biggest killer each year in the Construction Industry, so this course is a must for anyone exposed to the risk of a fall at work.
Confined Space Entry
Either a one-day or a two-day session for operatives or supervisors respectively.
Day one covers the basic requirements for operatives under the regulations for work in spaces with the potential to become hazardous. It deals specifically with "Escape" breathing apparatus and the related emergency protocols.
Day two covers requirements for supervisors, or those who may expect to enter or work in spaces that are already known to be hazardous. It deals specifically with "working" breathing apparatus and the related working protocols.
New Roads & Street Works (C&G 6156)
